When morning came, Lazarai sauntered down the stairs, staring ahead with his sly, mesmerized gaze with the tip of his claw at the corner of his mouth. He slowed to a stop and shifted his eyes to the couch. As his gaze landed on Zaden and Lula's sleeping bodies, he slightly widened his smile. Moments later, he was holding Lula in one arm—she was bundled in her white blanket so that it was easy for him to carry her like a baby. The claw of his opposite hand was dangling Zaden's limp body from his hood. Lazarai sauntered into the kitchen and flicked his tail, opening the fridge. He placed Lula inside and flicked his tail, transforming her white blanket to become a white heating blanket. He closed the door on her. He then made his way to the microwave and flicked his tail, opening it. His claw swung Zaden into it—Zaden fell in with a faint thump. "Ngh…" Zaden slowly blinked his eyes open. He flinched, as the microwave door slammed shut on him. ABOUT THIS COMPILATION The Ferret Universe: Shadowed Descendant (Official Compilation - Entries 746-1002) is a compilation of short-story entries that take place in the ferret-only Universe of Ferretopia. In Ferretopia, ferrets have the powers to create, destroy, and modify any object they desire. But even with such powers, many are challenged by the chaotic events that disrupt their Universe. As for Zaden, a melancholic ferret whose life was once characterized by one trauma after another, Ferretopia's chaos had been almost nothing compared to the storm of emotional pains he had carried inside.
